Abstract
In this paper, we propose a secure context transfer for integration of the UMTS and 802.11 WLAN networks. The context transfer between 802.11 WLAN and the UMTS has some drawbacks and could be hijacked through middle of communication session. An architecture for secure context transfer scheme is provided for this propose. After the UMTS users handover to a 802.11 WLAN environment, one time session key generation protocol (OTSKGP) is used to build a secure context transfer. The MS and AP compute their session key individually. The scheme includes three phases and all the steps of the phases are protected by public-key encryption. Therefore no information can be hijacked between MS and AP. From the security analysis we know that the context transfer between WLAN and UMTS is guaranteed in various aspect for example like user identity and new register can be protected avoid denial service, key reuse, and so on.
