Abstract :
A wavelength tunable Yb/sup 3+/-double-clad fiber laser Q-switched by a Tm/sup 3+/-codoping in the gain fiber is demonstrated experimentally. This system showed 2.4 W output power, up to 140 kHz repetition rate and 21.8 /spl mu/J pulse energy.
