Abstract
The absorption spectra of several wide-gap materials in their transparency region are obtained with an excite-probe Z-scan. We find /spl alpha//spl sim/10/sup -5/ cm/sup -1/ for ZnS at 800-900 nm, making this an excellent lens material for use in semiconductor laser cooling experiments.
