Abstract :
Laser emission with 80% slope efficiency (78% input-to-output) under Ti:sapphire pumping and 75% slope efficiency for absorbed power under diode laser pumping into emitting level at 880 nm have been demonstrated in a 1.0-at.% Nd:YVO/sub 4/ crystal.
