  • Abstract
    We demonstrate extension of the error-free transmission distance in a 10 Gb/s system with 80 km amplifier spacing, from /spl sim/1,600 km to 5,840 km through all-optical 2R-regeneration using an ion-implanted InGaAsP MQW saturable absorber and a nonlinear fibre.
