Abstract :
This paper numerically investigates the behavior of passive RC low pass filters when the capacitive element acquires a fractional order. The effect of the fractional capacitor on time and frequency-domain responses is studied. We demonstrate that second-order-type characteristics can be obtained from a fractional RC circuit fractional order between 1 and 2.
