Abstract
The current rapid growth of the PV and renewable industry may stall if the shortage of appropriately trained people required to power the expansion, is not addressed. The EU needs an integrated training strategy to solve the skills shortage. In response to this need, a consortium of European universities jointly developed the European masters in renewable energy. The first intake of students commenced in October 2002, marking the beginning of a unique European training program in renewable energy. This paper will detail the development and structure of the course. The progress and results, of the first year of the European masters in renewable energy will also be presented at the conference.
