Abstract
Multiple photovoltaic converters for optical powering systems have been developed in this work. Devices with efficiencies over 45% have been manufactured. They are able to deliver a maximum output power higher than 1 watt. Several prototypes of power-by-light systems have been implemented using commercial lasers and fibres and integrating the multiple PV converters developed in this project. The influence of temperature on the performance of the MPCs under concentrated light has also been tested, in the range -70 to +100/spl deg/C, with very satisfactory results.
