  • Abstract
The absolute electrical power measurement of a multi-junction (MJ) solar cell device requires high quality for the solar simulator, especially in terms of the generated uniformity and the spectral match of the irradiance, but also for the knowledge of the technical specifications of the MJ solar cell. As the uncertainty of the measurement of a solar array combines many geometrical, optical, and electronic parameters of the set-up and the device being tested, the requirements for a Large Area Solar Simulator have to be discussed carefully. The paper deals with this uniformity, spectral match and the appropriate reference cells. In conclusion, the results can be used as a guideline to establish a set of requirements for a Large Area Solar Simulator.
