Abstract
We have developed a low cost and environmental friendly backing films for the solar cell module. As the existing film is mainly composed of fluorine film and aluminum foil, they have problems both of cost and waste. We propose of our novel hydrocarbon based films that have excellent weather durability and high moisture barrier property even after environmental load tests. It can maintain high moisture barrier, 0.1 g/m/sup 2//spl middot/ day, and 97% of the initial conversion efficiency even after heat and humidity load test of 85/spl deg/C 85%RH 1000 hours. Also, it can maintain sufficient tensile strength, 134N/15mm width, even after UV exposure test of 100 mW/cm/sup 2/, 60/spl deg/C, 168 hours. In conclusion, our novel hydrocarbon backing films can be applied to the solar cell module for replacement of the conventional film.
