Abstract
The work shows the advances realised in the development of a complete low-cost two-axis tracking system with high wind resistance. The system is intended for positioning the collecting platform where the PV receivers are installed perpendicular to the sun, as well as for projecting the solar radiation over a distant target using mirrors in solar thermal applications. The work includes the driving mechanisms in both axis, the optical sensor and the low energy consumption control electronics that governs the tracking strategies and controls the driving mechanisms.
