Abstract
The performances of the new PV tile as a roofing material were confirmed by various tests. The fireproofing performance was examined according to the test prescribed by the building standard law in Japan and certified by the ministry of construction. The amount of the water penetrated under the PV modules was about 50% lower than the case of only roof tiles. This result can be explained by the difference of joint construction between the PV tile and the roofing tile. The endurance of the modules for wind load was examined under 60 m/s wind velocity. No trouble such as removing was observed in the case of PV tile, while some roofing tiles scattered over 50m/s. It was confirmed that the new PV tile performs satisfactorily as a roofing material.
