Abstract :
This paper presents a complete analysis on the envelope probability density functions (PDF) for a new analytical model of small-scale, local area fading experienced by narrowband receivers in wireless communications. A closed-form formula of the envelope PDF is derived in terms of a series of Laguerre polynomials by using the orthogonal expansion. As shown in numerical results, this closed-form formula can be easily computed for either analytical study or computer simulation.
