Abstract
We report on passive Q-switching of a diode pumped Tm:YAG laser by a Cr2+:ZnSe crystal for the first time, to the best of our knowledge. The obtained input-output curve for passive Q-switching. A maximum output power of 1.57 W and a slope efficiency of 19 % were obtained. The pulses had a pulse width in the range of 300 ns.
