Abstract :
This paper describes an experimental study of two schemes for polarisation independent spectral inversion without frequency shift in a semiconductor amplifier. It has been found that conjugate beam from the front facet of the SOA is polarisation insensitive when the frequency detuning between the two pump beams is less than 200 GHz and a polarisation insensitive conjugate beam without frequency shift is obtained when the frequency detuning between the two pumps is larger than 180 GHz. The experimental results has been found to be in good qualitative agreement with the theoretical predictions.
