Abstract
An adaptive orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (AOFDM) based on carrier interferometry (CI) code is proposed. The modulation schemes of the CI based OFDM vary according to fading statistics. Unlike conventional adaptive OFDM systems, the AOFDM with CI code allocates a modulation scheme to an OFDM symbol rather than each subcarrier, due to the property of CI code. The performance and throughput of the proposed AOFDM with CI code are compared with a fixed OFDM system. It is shown that the proposed system offers both performance improvement and high throughput.
