Abstract :
Summary form only given. It is increasingly common, for the designers of TWTA systems, to incorporate linearizers for the power amplifiers to improve their efficiency and linearity. Most of the commercially available linearizers are analog predistortion linearizers utilizing the third order nonlinearity. Fifth order linearizers have been proposed in the literature but have yet to be realized in practice. In this report we address the effectiveness of fifth order linearizers with respect to third order linearizers. Furthermore we present a technique for realizing a fifth order linearizer using two cascaded third order linearizers.
