Abstract
Based on the concept of ambient intelligence, which is quite similar to what mITF application sub-committee has described in its "usage scenario ad hoc", the European research community has started to harmonize views regarding 3G and beyond service architectures. Basic assumptions are that future service architectures will be based on service personalisation, service integration, and IP-based reachability. The paper presents the rationales, the framework, and the architecture proposed by Wireless World Research Forum (WWRF [http://www.wireless-world-research.org/]) Working Group 2 based on numerous contributions [http://www.wireless-world-research.org/] from research and industry world wide.
