Abstract
The proposed detector, which units a NaI(TI) scintillator, a same-shaped BGO scintillator with a photomultiplier tube, positively increases directional sensitivity to incident gamma rays and has a possibility of measuring directions of gamma rays, and searching radioactive materials. Prototypes have been designed and examined by laboratory tests. It is shown that the detector with scintillators of 25 mm in diameter by 50 mm in length has the sufficient sensitivity to meet the requirement.
