Abstract
This paper proposes a framework for a machine agent to constantly adapt its behavior toward the naturalistic collaboration with a human operator, that is inspired by the proactive aspect of human cognition. We introduce the proactive agency into the adaptation process of the machine agent to get more information about the partner´s internal state that is difficult to understand under the impoverished conditions where only passive information is available, and to establish their mutual understandings. As an experimental testbed for our proposing model, some experiments using a simulated robot teleoperation environment were prepared to consider the collaboration between a human operator and an autonomous tele-operated robot.
