Abstract
An Optically Differential Reconfigurable Gate Array (ODRGA) has been proposed to enable dynamic reconfiguration of an arbitrary location on its gate array. The dynamic reconfiguration of an arbitrary location can be realized by calculating the difference between previous configuration data stored on a VLSI chip and subsequent optically-supplied configuration data. This paper presents an optical reconfiguration system for ODRGA VLSI chips using a liquid crystal television spatial light modulator and shows the experimental results of dynamic reconfiguration of an arbitrary location on an ODRGA VLSI chip.
