Abstract :
The goal of the paper is to present a novel technique for automatic identification of videos. This technique is based on a hashing algorithm which analyzes the video in order to extract its fingerprinting or hash value. This fingerprint allows the unambiguous. Two main aspects are considered: the hash extraction process and the database strategy to retrieve information. We also propose an analysis of the false positive error probability in order to identify an identification threshold. The proposed technique is tested under different kinds of compression using the MPEG standard and DivX;-) algorithm. The results show that a reliable identification can be performed.
