Abstract :
A CMOS IF bandpass filter for an integrated Bluetooth receiver is presented. The filter center frequency and bandwidth are 3 MHz and 1 MHz, respectively. The filter is based on unity gain fully differential voltage buffers and utilizes linearized MOS transistors for tuning. This technique provides a simplified, low power, small area design solution for the filter implementation. The proposed 18th-order filter occupying an area of 1.44 mm2 was submitted for fabrication using 0.5-μm standard CMOS process. Simulation results obtained from the layout circuit file show that the proposed filter satisfies the selectivity and dynamic range requirements of Bluetooth using a total supply current of 900 μA.
