Abstract :
A spike position map with quantized state can have various co-existing periodic spike-trains and generates one of them depending on an initial state. For typical maps, we clarify basic characteristics: the number of co-existing spike-trains, their periods, and attraction basins. Also, we propose an application of the maps to an algorithmic A/D converter based on spike position modulation. A simple implementation method of the converter is presented.
