Abstract :
A multi resolution-signal direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation, based on wavelet decomposition (W. Xu et al., IEEE Trans. SIGPRO Lett., vol.7, p.66-68, 2000) and (B. Wang et al., IEEE AP-S Int. Symp. p.672-675, 2002) is analyzed in detail. In this paper, considering signal leakage and spatial phase ambiguity, we show that this approach is not feasible because implementing the signal DOA estimation on one subband will lead to false estimation when other signals exist outside this subband. Computer simulation results demonstrate our viewpoint.
