Abstract
A simple impedance matching technique is presented for microstrip patch antennas using a compact microstrip resonant cell (CMRC). The characteristic impedance of a microstrip line is controlled due to the additional effective inductance of the CMRC. Without any matching circuits, microstrip patch antennas can be easily fed by a 50 Ω line with CMRC.
