Abstract :
A wideband multichannel sounder with 16 simultaneous transmit channels and 32 switched receive elements in groups of 4 is presented. The sampling and processing requirements are discussed and some preliminary results are shown. In order to have a true wide-angle system two spherical arrays are applied. The element pattern of a dipole on sphere has been derived based on the exact solution in spherical harmonics.
