Abstract
A simple and efficient frequency-domain measurement technique for ultra-wideband (UWB) propagation in indoor environments is presented. Data are collected over a frequency range of 100 MHz to 12 GHz using a scalar network analyzer (SNA). Then, a phase retrieval method is employed to extract the phase information. This method is based on a Hilbert transform relationship between the imaginary and real parts of the spectrum of a causal analytic signal. The channel impulse response obtained from the frequency-domain measurements is compared with the corresponding time-domain result. This comparison indicates good accuracy for the frequency-domain measurements of UWB indoor channel.
