Abstract :
A medium gain triple-band compact microstrip patch antenna element with a small ground plane is presented. It has been developed to be used in small handsets of future multi-standard mobile communication (GSM1800 and UMTS) and wireless local area network (HIPERLAN2) systems. A prototype has been designed, fabricated and tested. Good agreement has been obtained between numerical simulations and experimental results.
