Abstract
We present a multi-resolution (MR) basis for the method of moments (EFIE-MoM). The proposed MR basis is organized in hierarchical levels, and it is divided into a solenoidal and a quasi-irrotational part, that allows us to map the two vector parts onto fully scalar quantities, where the wavelets are defined. This contribution extends the theory and applications of the approach in Pirinoli et al. (2001) and Vipiana et al. (2003) to three dimensional antenna structures (possibly contacting a ground plane), discretized with triangular meshes, showing an accurate solution also with highly sparsified MoM matrices, and a fast convergence of iterative solvers.
