Abstract
The method of moments transforms the antenna problem into a linear system. Wavelets are mainly used in MoM to render the system matrix sparse; clipping entries below a given threshold is an essential operation to obtain the desired sparse matrix. We present a novel way to estimate a priori the clipping threshold that produces an error on the solution lower than a desired error known as input. The procedure has a very low computational complexity, O(n). It is tested on a matrix obtained by applying the wavelet-based method of moments to a microstrip patch array structure.
