Implementation of an AM-VSB modulator using the Hilbert transform [digital TV transmission]

Nowadays, the world requires a change in the definition of the standard to be adopted for television signals broadcasting. Around the world, much concentrated effort has been focussed on the question of which convenient digital transmission system can substitute for the conventional analog one. Over many years, a great number of telecommunication companies have been acquiring much experience in modeling, implementing and testing efficient devices. The purpose of this paper is to show the implementation of an amplitude modulated vestigial side band (AM-VSB) modulator, with digital technology, using the Hilbert transform.
