Abstract
Over the past thirty some years, computational electromagnetics has grown from an infant to a mature disciple. The Numerical Electromagnetics Code (NEC) has played a significant role in providing antenna engineers with a capability unimagined just forty years ago. Within the US Coast Guard, the use of computational electromagnetics has paralleled this same development. The growth of computational electromagnetics applications in the Coast Guard community is presented chronologically.
