Abstract
To realize low cross-polarization horns with simple structure, we have developed multimode horns with no corrugation. These horns are designed by using the optimization technique combined with the mode-matching approach. In this paper, we have proposed two types of wavy-walled multimode horns of which the radiation pattern is intentionally controlled. One of them is a high efficiency horn with uniform aperture distribution and the other is a horn with radiation pattern similar to choked horns. The effectiveness of our design method is verified by comparing with measured and predicted results.
