Abstract
Error estimates for the moment method have been obtained in terms of Sobolev norms of the current solution. Motivated by the historical relationship of Sobolev norms to measures of energy, we conjecture that the Sobolev norm is equivalent to a norm induced by the forward scattering amplitude, and prove this for the case of TM-polarized fields incident on a PEC circular cylinder.
