Abstract :
A new broadband adaptive beamformer specifically applicable to microphone arrays has been proposed. This beamformer structure is the combination of a blocking matrix (BM) and a multiple canceller (MC) system, with a new leaky adaptive constrained beamformer (LACB). Simulation results show that this beamformer structure allows as large as ±30° target direction range while maintaining high interference reduction in the non-look direction, hi addition, this method only requires a small number of microphones arranged in a small space. Even when the signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) is 0 dB, it still performs extremely well in interference suppression near the target directional of arrival (DOA) region.
