Abstract :
New dispersion-flattened fibers having negative dispersion of about -8 ps/nm/km over whole telecommunication band are developed. Transmissions with 10 Gb/s directly modulated LDs over 51 km at 1275 nm and over 80 km at 1550 nm are realized without dispersion compensation.
