Abstract :
The continuous-wave and Q-switched (and cavity-dumped) operation of a robust and efficient diode-pumped Nd:GdVO/sub 4/ laser is presented. Tailoring of the pump-induced thermal lens in the Brewster-cut gain medium allows high-power (>10 W), circular TEM/sub 00/-mode operation.
