  • Abstract
    We have observed a positive change of refractive index and formation of waveguides in YAG:Cr/sup 4+/ crystals, exposed to a high-intensity femtosecond laser beam. The technique is potentially suitable for fabrication of waveguide lasers in crystal materials.
