Abstract :
We briefly review 1.3-/spl mu/m InGaAlAs DFB RWG lasers that feature low-resistance notch-free gratings and are for greater than 10-Gb/s direct modulation at over 100/spl deg/C. The superior transmission properties and long-term reliability are also described.
