Abstract :
We show, for the first time, the suppression of intra-channel nonlinear distortion in 40 Gbit/s transmission by combining alternate-polarisation with the alternate-phase-RZ signal in an optical-time-division-multiplexed system, doubling the maximum transmission distance compared to standard RZ.
