Abstract
The paper presents permanent magnet electric propulsion system, a new propulsion system for a nuclear submarine for cruising. Some advantages of PM motor used in electric propulsion system for a nuclear submarine for cruising are given. The system and its main circuit are designed. Control principle of the system is introduced. The configuration of the system is described. Key technologies to be studied about actual application of the system in nuclear submarine are presented.
