Abstract :
A modified asymmetric PWM inverter with a very simple auxiliary circuit is proposed for AC distributed power supplies where load impedance can be either capacitive or inductive. Zero voltage switching is extended to light load condition and input line ranges from 35 to 75 V. The operation mechanism is explained and design curves are given for a 1 MHz, 250 W inverter. Main performances including power loss, output voltage waveform quality, dynamics responses are analyzed and verified with simulation results.
