Abstract :
Power electronics transformer (PET) can realize functions of delivering energy, voltage transformation and isolation, and possesses the merits of small volume and light weight. Making use of PET to overcome power quality problems and have functions of intelligent protection, energy collection and data transmission are trend in this research fields. In this paper, operating principles of PET are discussed. Instantaneous control strategy has been introduced into control of PET to overcome the shortcoming of RMS control method. The effectiveness of control strategy is validated by simulation. The results shows that PET, adopted instantaneous control strategy, has good dynamic response and can prevent dynamic power quality problems, such as sag, swell and flicker, from impacting sensitive loads. PET is the key equipments of "Green Power System" and "Digital Power System" and it can achieve tremendous social and economic benefits to study and utilize PET. Along with technique maturity and cost reducing, PET will be widely used in 5-10years.
