Abstract
Intrusion tolerance (IT) is a new approach that has gained impressive momentum. First, the principle of IT was proposed. And then a model - ITHP (intrusion tolerance based on heterogeneous platforms) was presented to support COTS products transparently. The mathematic analysis and test result of an experimental system prove that the model is powerful to mask system´s most unknown vulnerabilities, and can be used in practice to develop a safe server system. In the end, the future work is discussed.
