Abstract :
We compare the system performance of the MMSE receiver and the conventional Rake receiver. Our study is based on the system simulation of a 3G wireless communication system, the HSDPA of UMTS. In the simulation, we compare the system throughput and user capacity for systems with conventional pilot weighted Rake receivers and the systems with MMSE receivers. An approximated MMSE performance metric is applied in efficiently evaluating the MMSE system performance.
