  • Abstract
Since the TDD mode can support asymmetric traffic efficiently, an advanced scheduler based on slot-assignment for multi-services in TDD systems needs to be investigated. The downlink capacity constraint is discussed first. Second, a rate adaptation scheme is presented to maximize the throughput. Furthermore, to guarantee fairness and satisfy QoS requirements, an advanced proportionally fair scheduling (PFS) algorithm is proposed for determining which flow is allocated resources. The proposed algorithm aims at guaranteeing the long-term and short-term fairness as well as maximizing the system throughput. Furthermore, the scheduler supports multiple classes of traffic with different QoS requirements. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheduling algorithm can improve fairness and provide a considerable throughput as well.
