  • Abstract
We develop a mathematical model to analyze the call-level performance of radio channel allocation of TD-CDMA systems supporting multi-type heterogeneous and asymmetrical traffic conditions. Our mathematical model uses multidimensional operations of random vectors or matrices to deal with multiple types of traffic and with both the up- and down-transmission directions at one time. Employing the mathematical model, we obtain the call blocking probability and the optimum timeslot switching-point with the smallest call blocking probability. We also propose a framework for radio resource management in TD-CDMA systems to increase the overall performance in terms of call blocking probability considering the multidimensional conditions of heterogeneous and asymmetrical traffic.
