Abstract :
The distributed wireless communication system (DWCS) is introduced as well as the concept of virtual cell and virtual base station. Using macro diversity receiving technology, DWCS decreases the transmission power of users, and enlarges the reverse link capacity consequently. Considering path loss and shadowing effect, the reverse link capacity of the virtual cell using MRC diversity is evaluated by the relative other-cell interference factor fVCN. And DWCS is compared with the traditional cellular system, which has 1 antenna in a cell. The result shows that virtual cell system has a larger reverse link capacity than the traditional one under the condition of the same antenna density.
