Abstract :
A two-hop 1xEV-DO (cdma2000 version 1x evolution, data-only) cellular system is considered where we introduce dedicated-relay stations (DRS) to the 1xEV-DO cellular system in order to overcome the performance degradation of the system, with respect to fairness, delay, and service rate, which occurs mainly due to MS located at the cell boundary. For relaying traffic in two-hop 1xEV-DO cellular systems, we propose three transmission schemes in order to handle efficiently the mutual interference between the link from BS to DRS and the link from DRS and MS. For each transmission scheme, we describe corresponding analysis methods of average data transmission rate according to specific user distribution in a cell.
